Gossip Girl starring Blake Lively( Serena Van Der Woodson) and Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf ), ended in 2021, inking our hearts with memories and glamour. But now, their spiritual descendants are heading to the small screen.
HBO MAX, which shares CNN parent company, will feature the reboot of the show gossip girl. The teen drama, which ran from 2007 to 2012, featured some popular actors like Blair and Blake.
The showrunner’s reboot version will be developed by Joshua Safran, former showrunner, a writer, and executive producer of the series. The series will take you back to the upper east side of New York, where there are established private schools.
According to the HBO MAX, the new series will see the life nine years after the original blogger’s site went dark. But the exciting thing is the recent reboot of Gossip Girl will feature new actors.
Kristen Bell, the Narrator of the original Gossip Girl, will also be the voice of this reboot. Kristen has given her many popular and successful shows like she was Anna in Frozen, Eleanor Shellstrop on A Good Place, the star of Veronica Mars, the list goes on and on.
As a narrator, she hinted that the reboot version would be more suggestive and fun than the previous versions. “I like the challenge of having to evoke emotion from the audience by using only one tool. The tone, the pitch, cadence of my voice. It’s really fun,” she said of voicing the iconic pot-stirrer.
She also hinted that the reboot version would be colling and exciting because the topics are related to the current generation. Some of the issues revolve around social media platforms, privacy, and relationships, with a twist in Gossip Girl’s opening episode.
The show’s trailer is out, and it is here to prove that rich prep-school assholes can e queer or people who love. Some things are identical in the reboot as well, like lounging on the steps. The show is available from July.
