The early life of Chuck
Chuck Norris was born in Ryan, Oklahoma on March 10, 1940. He is the oldest amongst the three brothers. Chuck Norris once described himself as “the shy kid who never excelled at anything in school.” Chuck’s father was an alcoholic and after his parents divorced, his father disappeared altogether from his life. Norris with his mother and brothers moved to California at the age of 10 and he went to North Torrance High School.
In 1958, Norris and his high school sweetheart, Dianne Holechek married. This year he also joined the U.S. Air Force. In Osan Air Base in South Korea where Chuck Norris was stationed during his term, he got involved in martial arts. In 1962, he left the Air Force and started his career as a karate instructor.
